FAA says Southwest aircraft with Boeing engine cowling fell off throughout takeoff

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration on Sunday mentioned it could examine after an engine cowling on a Southwest Airways (NYSE:) Boeing (NYSE:) 737-800 fell off throughout takeoff in Denver and struck the wing flap.

Southwest Flight 3695 returned safely to Denver Worldwide airport round 8:15 a.m. native time on Sunday and was towed to the gate. The Boeing plane with 135 passengers and 6 crew members aboard had been headed to William P. Interest Airport in Houston.

Nobody was injured.

Southwest mentioned it was flying passengers on one other aircraft to Houston roughly three hours delayed. Southwest mentioned upkeep groups are reviewing the plane.

The aircraft entered service in June 2015, in line with FAA data. Boeing referred inquiries to Southwest for details about the airline’s airplane and fleet operations.

The airline declined to say when the aircraft’s engine had final had upkeep.

A Southwest 737 flight on Thursday aborted takeoff and taxied again to the gate at Lubbock airport in Texas after the crew reported engine points. The FAA can also be investigating a March 25 Southwest 737 flight that returned to the Austin airport in Texas after the crew reported a attainable engine situation.

A March 22 Southwest 737-800 flight returned to Fort Lauderdale airport after the crew reported an engine situation. It’s also being reviewed by the FAA.
